Thank you all who express your feelings toward Richard you guys make him feel so alive each time I visit I read him your comments and he appreciates everyone of you. For me it gets hard sometimes and I dont write everything he tells me for sadness invades my own being for things arnt always a cup of joy in his life so I refuse to write it and I tell him sorry. As of late i have been busy with my own family but I do my best to visit my best friend and I bring along my guitar to strum the cords and Rick loves the music and starts to sing new words to my music. More glimpses of his life are shown in a couple of the last writing i have posted of him. Thank you again,and if you like for me to tell him something mention it here.

Hi. Welcome. I am new here too but Richard's thoughts really shook me. It's very tragic what happened to him. He is lucky to have a friend in you. Wishing Richard the best always. Tell him to keep writing it out. It's a catharsis for him. It's very hard to be incapacitated like this. He sounds like a beautiful soul. Our hearts go out to him.

I wish I could respond using your name. It feels so awkward to address you as helper. You are so much more. What a wonderful friend and companion you have been for him. Thank you for your feedback to us. It speaks volumes of your character and your dedication to Richard.

I am happy to hear that our words have a positive impact on Richard. For someone who lives life in total darkness; he certainly has shined a light on the difficulties one faces when losing such a vital part of ourselves. He also shows us how powerful the other senses are by describing in vivid detail sound or lack of it. How fear is intensified when those other senses are obscured by something as simple as rain or how a dripping faucet is amplified in silence. He has opened our minds and filled our hearts.

I should add that the fact that he is singing is such a hopeful thing and it just makes me smile for him. Keep up the amazing work you are doing. :)

Yes, at first I was surprised when I began taking my guitar to his house and playing then he started singing and I couldn't do more but to keep playing for him. Thank you again.
