For Fools

Dear Dad,

I’m sorry I wrote those nasty things about you and they hurt you. I’m sorry I let my anger get the better of me. I’m sorry I can’t be the daughter you want me to be. I’m sorry I’m going down this path of self-destruction. I’m sorry I always give up because it gets too hard. I’m sorry I overreact over the smallest things. I’m sorry I can’t say this to your face because I can’t talk to you. I’m sorry I can’t talk to you. I’m sorry I disappoint you and let you down. I’m sorry I make you angry and make you sad. I’m sorry I’m so much like my brother. I’m sorry I won’t do anything about it. I’m sorry I’m writing this on here for everyone to see. I’m sorry this is the only way for me. I’m sorry I’m so rude to you. I’m sorry I don’t support the things you do sometimes. I’m sorry I don’t believe in myself. I’m sorry I can’t handle things the way others can. I’m sorry I don’t want to do what’s expected of me. I’m sorry I can’t change. I’m sorry I can’t be something I’m not. I’m sorry I can’t face life and shut it out instead. I’m sorry I provoke you. I’m sorry I’ll never amount to much. I’m just sorry.

I’m writing this on here for everyone to see so that you know I’m not afraid to admit all the wrong I've done. I’m better at writing things than saying them and I've lost my voice right now. I want to spread my wings and fly, but fear keeps them shut. I’m afraid to try anything because I’m afraid to fail. And right now I feel like I’m failing at everything, especially at being a daughter.

I still love you, it’s just hard for me to show.
