Humor on TV

Lately, I`ve been feeling less than inspired. So, I decide to write a note to myself for encouragement. This is also meant for all those writers out there who may be struggling to find their place in the sun.

When the pool runs dry, and it seems like the words won`t come, these are the times to treasure. It`s not that there is nothing to write about. There is always something to write about. When you drop down your pail into the well of reminiscence, something will always come up.Your imagination is largely untapped. It`s been often said by learned men, that we, as human beings, only use about 10 percent of our mental capabilities. So, go ahead, lift up that pen and begin. Force yourself to do what you know needs to be done. Be kind to yourself. Often, we, are our most viscious critics.

``And, you want to know something else?`` There is no such thing as``I can`t.``Only,``I won`t.``Do word sketches. Have enough courage to make mistakes.Who cares if no one reads your words. It`s not the end of the world. Not everything that you write will be memorable or inspiring. In fact, some of the stuff you write won`t make a bit of sense to anyone but yourself. That`s O.K., too. The beauty of it all is when your words start to flow out of you like there`s no tomorrow. Take a small notebook with you wherever you go. You never know when inspiration will strike. Many words have been lost because of a misplaced pen or for lack of writing paper. Ideas come and go like the wind. They may never come again in quite the same way. Capture them in memory. Now! 1 comment

And while you`re waiting for your ship to come in, lay down some groundwork.Get a book of poetry. Read for all you`re worth. Do crosswords. If you can`t understand a certain word, get a dictionary and write down the meaning. Remember the words of your 8th grade English teacher. ``You do recall what he said to you, don`t you?`` You learn to write by writing. There is no easy way to go about it. It is still work. You may write forever, and never recieve two cents for your efforts. But, you will be able to look at yourself in the mirror, at the end of the day, or night, and say to yourself, ``Hey, I am impressed, even if no one else is.``And, that`s quite alright too. It`s O.K., because, you did your best, and, it`s out there. Who was it that said,``Give the world your best, and the best of the world will come back to you.
