Richard is afraid of dogs because when he was a kid the family's dogs turned on him and chased him around the house and bit him on his arm and leg until he ran inside and the dogs were later taken away to be given away. Though, this story is one Richard told me once when we were both small growing up as best friends I felt frighten and saddened of the pain he had to go through and every time we would be playing at park he would be cautious of his surroundings all the time. I felt so bad and then later in life he would lose his sight making him more afraid to go outside for no he would not be able to see the scary beast that was to him a dog.
