Under the Double Star - Chapter One

"It's time Drew." A light cut through the dark mist, and focused in on the girl.

       "I'm afraid so."

"Alright." She sounded a bit hesitant, but she stood and took his hand. She turned back to the darkness and spoke her parting words. "Wait for me."

Not a sound was made but a dark mist slid over her hand and she smiled. "You never did have much to say." and with that she departed into the light.

       "You surprise me."

She looked up at the man holding her hand. "What do you mean?"

He didn't look at her, but he did speak. "You didn't promise to come back, so I got a little worried."

She smiled up at him. "That's so sweet."

He turned and looked down at her. " I enjoy your company. Please don't stay with him, promise me you will return to me every morning."

She looked into his eyes and gave him her most honest answer. "You know I cant possibly promise you that."

He grabbed her shoulders and looked into her eyes. "Please, you cant say yes to him, not yet. You understand that it would mean your death don't you?"

She looked away form his gaze. "I do."

He let go and began walking. "We are almost there." He paused for a moment, and grabbed her hand again. "You have to stay strong. There are those in my realm that love you, that need you. Don't throw it all away because you are to blind to see it and too closed off to let them help. People aren't all knowing and they cant see the signs if they don't know what they are searching for. Forget about Michelle and let those who are trying to be there for you in. You cant do this by yourself, and once you say yes to the dark he will consume you."

       "Can I go now?"

He let go an began to walk away. "Drew, I love you. I have released you to the dark and led you to the light. I have been there for you every day of your life and I enjoy that very much. I beg of you, please return, you are my life."
She turned and walked into the bright light without saying a word to him.
