Under the Double Star - Chapter One

"And this is the last stop, this is the living room." Jezebell spoke enthusiastically as she plopped down on the sofa.

"It's a nice place, thanks for the tour." He smiled and sat beside her.

Jezebell playfully hit his leg. "well it wasn't as long as your tour."

He smiled and rubbed his leg. "well it wasn't much smaller. Less walking but about as much to see." I was standing by the far wall throwing mind darts at Kieth. I must have been pretty concentrated because Tyler walked down the steps, saw me shooting darts, then saw why I was shooting them.

       "Who is he?"

I jumped and turned around to smack Tylers arm. "My god Tyler! You scared me to death! What is wrong with you, scaring me like that!"

Tyler looked at me surprised. "Well it's not like I was sneaking around, really trying to scare you."

"Well news flash! You did scare me!"

"Jeez sis calm down. I'm sorry okay." Tyler put his hands on my shoulders.

"Oh yeah, and that's our resident weirdo, Tyler." Jezebell spoke in a condisending voice.

Tyler turned to look at Jezebell and Kieth. I'm not sure but I thought i saw him flinch slightly when he locked eyes with Keith.

Keith stood, and walked over to Tyler, smiled and outstretched his hand. "It's nice to meet you Tyler."

Tyler grabbed Keith's hand and shook it. "It's nice to meet you as well."

Keith stood back and looked at me. "So this is your sister." I sensed a slight inflection when he said your, but it might just be how he talks.

"How did you know I was his sister?"

"Well, for one he called you sis, and for two you both look so much alike!" I looked at Tyler, who was looking at Keith, who was smiling at me. Just then Keith's phone rang. Without pulling away his gaze he pulled his phone out of his pocket and answered it. "Hello?" His smile faltered a bit. "Alright hold on." He held the phone to his chest. "I'm sorry i have to take this." He walked out the door and moved his phone to his ear, "Yeah, I'm back." and closed the door behind him.

I walked to the door and looked through the peek hole.

"What, are you stalking him now?" It seemed the more Jezebell spoke today the more I wanted to punch her in the face.

"Bell, shut up!" I continued looking through the peek hole. Keith was still talking on his phone. He did so for a few more minutes. I couldn't tell what was being said but the look on his face was a mix of excited and apologetic. He finally hung up, looked straight at the peek hole and smiled. I backed away and stood by Tyler.

The door opened, and Keith walked in. The first thing his eyes met were mine. I got the strange feeling that some how he knew I had been watching him. "Well, as it turns out my brother is a little lonely sitting at home all by himself. So he wants me to take him out to dinner. I'm sorry I couldnt stay longer."

Jezebell jumped up off the couch. "Well why dont you just go get your brother and he can eat here with us too."

Keith shook his head. "Oh no, I couldnt do that to you girls."

"It's okay!" Jezebell smiled. "I'm sure we have enough food for the both of you."

Keith looked at me as if he were asking permission. I hesitated then nodded. There was no reason fighting this, it wasnt going away, and we'd already come this far.
