soul mates

When the mist has cleared and the years have passed,

Who am I?

When the children have grown and flown the nest,

Who am I?

When the grey hair has come and I’m not as healthy as I once was,

Who am I?

When I feel lost and scared and unprepared for finding out about me,

Who am I?

When life has passed me by,

When I’ve been raising the kids and find myself at the back of the shelf

Waiting to put myself together

When the time has come for me to live

To know what I can give

and I’ve forgotten what I can do

and what I think

Who am I?

At that time the only thing I know

Is, I am yours

I am a child of God,

And, You Love me
