This was a Mother's Day Tribute to my mom the year before I married

AS a small child you seemed larger than life
You were my world, my shelter and the love of my life
AS I grew a little bigger, so did my world and my view on life
but you were still my shelter and the love of my life
As I grew still bigger, the world seemed too big to comprehend
and life became more difficult with the introduction of responsibility
but you were still my shelter and the love of my life
Then came my teens, changes in myself, the importance of friends and boys
There were some disappointments too,
but you were still my shelter and the love of my life
It was most important then that you became my friend
I feel very fortunate to have known my mother as a person first and mother second
You have given me great hopes and dreams and you have helped me build the confidence
needed to achieve my goals and the encouragement to succeed further still
You have been a great role model, always a doer, a person with a good heart, many talents,
great wisdom. You have always been a wonderful and supportive mother.
Your shoes could never be filled by someone else.
You are one of a kind and I could never say enough to do you justice.
I think perhaps, I am the luckiest daughter in the world.
You are still my shelter and the love of my life.
Happy Mother's Day! I love you Mom.

Love, Cindy

I wrote this to my mother years ago. To be honest, I couldn’t tell why the first two lines are capitalized this way. Thank you for your comments. Much appreciated
